(Previous Notes)

Tankred kicked open yet another set of double doors. Inside was a pile of bones with a seat on top. In the seat was a humanoid in disturbing armor, borne by those Chosen of Chaos. The creature's helmet was shaped like the visage of Abdul Al Shar. He exuded chaos and terror. Johann and Vaervenshyael failed their terror tests. Tankred and Wilhelm attacked.

Before the battle was over, Vaervenshyael failed 3 Terror tests, which lead to 3 Insanity Points, and 1 mental disability. For the disability, she rolled Host of Fiends. She will have to pass a Willpower test daily or be taken over by an Aspect of Khorne! This fits in perfectly with the campaign and her background.

After Tankred unleased Ulric's Fury and Wilhelm shot the Warrior of Chaos through the skull, Johann wanted to examine the body. Vaervenshyael did not want to touch the horrible thing, but she was willing (after a lot of unheeded pleading from the doctor) to help roll the body onto it's back using it's own sword as a pry-bar.

When the body was face up, a fit of rage passed through Vaervenshyael (was it Khorne? was it her? I don't have to tell!) and she swung the large sword around with all her strength to sever the warrior's head. The warrior's gorget rolled off like a pewter dinner plate. A finely detailed chain was revealed around the warrior's neck. Vaervenshyael snatched it out of curiosity. It had the appearance of one of the magical stones the party had found in the past. It was green with orange mottling. Vaervenshyael told the party they had (hopefully) found what they had come for, and they could leave this infernal place.

The party left the (castle? manor?) and could see the doorway they entered into the realm. Van Duster and the Knights were standing in the doorway, looking over the party's heads, and yelling "RUN!" A large, dark creature flew out of the night sky behind the party. Nobody got a good look at the creature as they were running for their very lives. They flew through the doorway, and Van dropped a bar across it before the creature could get to the party.

Vaervenshyael has a strange yearning to know exactly what the creature was that chased them.

Back at the Practicing Owl, the administrators that be had plenty of questions for the party. In the end, they could only tell them that they retrieved one of their missing acolytes, they retrieved the talisman, and a nightmare world is being held at bay under their temple with a metal bar thrown across a door.
