(Previous Notes)

(Session 54 happened without me.)

Vaervenshyael excused herself to head for the manor. Ludo followed, inviting her up to the turret. The elf sarcastically agreed to visit.

She was heading into the manor's small garden when an ogre walking up the main road caught her attention. She stopped to assess the situation and saw Tankred leading a handful of people behind the beast. She quickly headed into the manor to cut the creature off from the front door.

Vaervenshyael ran through the manor, warning those she saw of an impending attack. Maximillian tried to say something to her and catch her cloak's hem on the way by, but she didn't hear him. There was an elf standing outside the front door, and he was casting a spell toward her comrades.

The fiend within took over, and she attempted to tackle the casting elf. He dissipated as she lunged, and Vaervenshyael ended up landing on her face in the dirt. The fiend raged. The elf tried to touch Vaervenshyael, and she kicked his hand violently away from her. This enraged the ogre, who swung mightily at her. She dodged. She drew her weapons.

Suddenly, Vaervenshyael had no idea why she was standing in front of an ogre with her weapons drawn. (The elf had touched her with a spell causing her to forget the last few minutes.) Someone used the name Udrin, and someone else mentioned the name Tegort. Vaervenshyael knew these names from traveling with Maximillian and Ludovic. "Oh.We have visitors."

Vaervenshyael was extremely relieved to have another elf in the town, especially one as distinguished as Udrin. It was about time someone civilized showed up to lend a hand. Udrin spun a tale of how Maximillian and Ludovic had been sent to Padua in search of the talismans on Udrin's behalf. If Maximillian had secretly been the brains behind Ludovic's reign, Udrin had been the power behind Maximillian.

Of note, Johann was quite sarcastic toward the elf lord, and Vaervenshyael strongly suggested, nay threatened, that he should moderate his tone. However, Udrin treated all the party, including the elf, as barely worthy of his time.

Plans were afoot for a foray for the two remaining talismans in Ubain.
