[WFRP 1e] The Enemy Within 8
Wilfried - Bawd
Martin - Scout
Gottlieb - Bounty Hunter
Larry - Bodyguard
(Previous Sitting)
The party ran all around the backward village of Bogenhafen trying to find any information on the underground temple, the presumed owners thereof, the death of our perpetually drunk dwarf friend, and the three-legged goblin supposedly caught in a local warehouse. Wilfried became quite familiar with the environs, which will help should anyone ever need safe leading from point A to point B. Below is an abbreviated list of their stops.
1) Dr Malthusius to discuss his dead goblin the party found versus the dead goblin found in the
warehouse. He took it well and offered future aid to the party, if the aid did not cost him
anything. He also later gave the party a lead on who last saw the dwarf Gottri in the town stockade. Gottri was last seen with someone in the livery of Merchant House Teugen (red cross or flower)
2) Town Hall to ask about the location of one Gottri the dwarf. No gains were made, but
the party perhaps made an enemy of the town clerk with its free-flowing passive aggression.
3) Warehouse #4 to ask about the warehouseman who killed "the three-legged goblin.” Again the party didn’t really make any gains. The warehouseman is convinced he killed a three-legged goblin and threw it in the river at the urging of a watchman. Note for future reference, the warehouseman likes to drink. A lot.
4) Gottlieb was able to orient a location above ground to match the location of the temple below ground. The building above ground belongs to someone whose symbol is a barrel with an “S” mark on it...which turned out to be Merchant House Steinhager.
5) Crossed Pikes for breakfast and to talk with their contact in the thieves’ guild, Franz Baumann. He told the party all about the town council, it’s make up, the various merchant houses and their relative power levels, and the fact that many beggars had been turning up heartless in the sewers over the last year or so. Franz contact suggested the party talk with the Mourner’s Guild about the beggars.
6) The Magistrate to tell him about the party's goblin findings versus the warehouseman’s findings. The Magistrate went straight to the Merchant House Teugen after the party spoke to him (to rat on them??)
7) The Crossed Pikes to discuss all their findings and the resultant options. The party feared trusting the Magistrate, as he gets his position from the Merchant’s Guild. They decide to speak next with Friedrich Magirius, the head of a smaller merchant family. He is a contact of Franz and the Thieves Guild.
