[D&D 2e] Stalwart Adventures 5

Zak – Half Elf Thief Wizard (Me)
Thanin– Human Fighter
Ogurdan – Dwarf Priest of Selune

Zak and Thanin ended up poisoned when last we left off. They were able to make it back to the well room before the poison gave one last painful kick to the gut and dropped them both unconscious. Ogerdan spent the night casting his last healing spells. Reginald the talking water at this point shared that he was still able to cast spells. He conjured a Leomond’s Tiny Hut for everyone in the party to rest in relative safety.

When everyone was healed up and ready to explore some more, the party went back down the stairs, followed the previous hall, and explored until they came to a ladder heading up to a trap door.  Zak took his turn checking things out for spring safety and traps at the door. Finding none, he opened it. He door opened onto a beach on an island off the keep’s coast. The island had a small rowboat, as well as its convenient location. The party closed the door and headed back to the tower, with Zak making note to get a lock to keep riff-raff from accessing the keep through the door.

The party decided to search the rest of the tower on the way out. There was a small chapel with an unknown, yet totally evil, holy symbol. There was also a sitting room and bedroom of the previous lord of the keep. It seemed nothing had been disturbed since the lord died many, many years ago. From the lord’s quarters, they found a couple useful (if non magical) books, a fancy set of armor, and an obviously enchanted sword.

While accessing the attic, Zak was also able to find a working padlock to move to the trap door leading to the island. He looked he attic area over from the access point, decided there was nothing up there worth risking potential roof collapse, and told everyone the tower was fully clear.

There was nothing left to do but ride back for town.

Travel back to town was mostly uneventful until a few worgs with goblin riders came racing along he path from the other direction. The party braced for a fight and got a bit beat up by the beasts on their way by. Thankfully the brutes didn’t stop. The party was able to heal up and keep moving east.

Back in civilization, their loot was piled together, evaluated, and sold. This gave them enough money to pay the dwarf for the deed to the keep. The party was poor, but they were officially land owners.
